Waiting rooms are high traffic areas where patients spend a considerable amount of time on each hospital visit. Most multiple seating units have a life of over twenty years, but the upholstery material has a life of five to seven years. To keep the furniture in good condition it should be reupholstered two or three times before replacement. Some departments like  E.R. and Pediatrics require more attention. Special procedure exam tables and chairs represent an expensive investment, often several thousand dollars. Reupholstery updates the equipment and extends the life of these valuable assets. Bench seat and back cushions and cafeteria booths require constant attention. Hospitals require a variety of chairs for patients and conference rooms. Employees need chairs such as desk, guest, task and receptionist high stools, which along with sofas and club chairs complete the furniture maintenance program.
